Levi Muller
Engineering CadetIf you're interested in becoming an engineer, a Higgins cadetship can help you earn while you learn. Through a combination of hands-on experience, supported study and mentoring, cadets can work towards qualifications in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
Levi Muller is one of the people on that journey. Before leaving school, Levi's teachers connected him with Higgins' Early in Career Programme Lead, Sarah McKenzie, who arranged a visit to one of our projects. There, he met Project Manager Tristan Paget, who had followed a similar pathway into the industry.
The experience sparked Levi's interest, and after showing enthusiasm and a strong willingness to learn, he joined Higgins after finishing school.
Today, Levi works on the Rangiuru Business Park Interchange project while studying part-time towards a Diploma in Engineering. Higgins supports his development through paid study time, funding assistance via the Employee Educational Fund, and a structured programme that combines formal learning with real-world project experience.
So far, Levi is loving the experience.
“It's hard to pinpoint what I enjoy most because I love my job so much. Going to work and seeing my team every day is a highlight.”
